The Furrow Series pays homage to the vast farmlands where I grew up in Southern Texas. The soils there are scratched and gouged in hopes of coaxing life and food to sprout. There is a peace in the repetition. A beauty in the starkness. Most recently this series has the addition of dots and carving to add variety. The textures each becoming a way to divide the surface of the pottery, much like farm fields seem from the air.
